Katy Perry shared a short message to her followers on Instagram Tuesday, April 14
The post came one day after the singer's rep denied a sexual assault allegation made by Ruby Rose
Also on Tuesday, Rose shared a message about starting "the healing process now" and moving "forward"
Katy Perry offered a brief message to fans after her rep denied a sexual assault allegation made by Ruby Rose.
In an Instagram Stories post shared on Tuesday, April 14, Perry, 41, wrote to her followers, "i love you," alongside an image of her song "By the Grace of God" from her 2013 album Prism.
Lyrics for that breakup-inspired song include lines like "I picked myself back up" and "Now I have to rise above / Let the universe call the bluff / Yeah the truth will set you free."
The social media message came after Rose, 40, alleged in a series of Threads posts on Sunday, April 12, that Perry sexually assaulted her in an Australian nightclub in her early 20s.
Detailing the alleged incident, Rose, an Australian model-actress who has appeared in shows like Orange Is the New Black, claimed Perry "saw me 'resting' on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomitted on her."
In a statement on Monday, April 13, a rep for Perry said, "The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies."
The singer's rep added, "Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named."
In one Threads post, Rose said it "has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly," and "though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes."
Rose said she is "not interested in filing a report over this" when she responded to a Threads user who claimed she was speaking out in connection to a Twitter feud she once had with Perry in 2017, when she slammed Perry's song "Swish Swish."
Perry is "more than welcome to sue me (she won't, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people)," claimed Rose on Threads. "Plus there is so much more that happened in the years leading up to her silly song she won't want me discussing. The psychological manipulation was strong with that one."
Early on Tuesday, April 14, Rose shared an update claiming she finalized police reports for several unspecified past incidents she faced.
"This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved," she wrote. "It's going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages, to other people's experiences, but I'm not. This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite the relief. I can start the healing process now. And temporary move forward. I love you all so much."
