'The Voice' finale reveals champion, winning coach of Season 29

'The Voice' finale reveals champion, winning coach of Season 29
Aiden Ross, a 20-year-old student from College Station, Texas, was crowned the winner of Season 28 of NBC's "The Voice." The Team Niall singer took home the crown during the second part of the season finale on Dec. 16, 2025.

After an all-star group of artists battled it out on "The Voice," one champion – and their coach – has been crowned the winner.

Alexia Jayy, 31, took home the win in "The Voice: Battle of the Champions" finale, which aired Tuesday, April 14. Alexia's win meant another feather in the cap for coach Adam Levine, who at one point declared her to be "one of the best singers I have ever heard in my life."

Alexia's performance of Aretha Franklin's "I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)" in the April 13 semifinals earned her a spot in the finale, but it was her rendition of "Lady Marmalade" and Adele's "One and Only" that cinched her a win in a vote by an in-studio audience comprising past contestants and superfans.

The Season 29 runners-up were Team Kelly's Liv Ciara, who earned the second most votes; Team Legend's Lucas West, who was third; and Mikenley Brown, who came in fourth.

Adam David won "The Voice" Season 27. David, one of two of coach Michael Buble?'s singers, marked Buble?'s second victory in a row on the NBC show following his Season 26 win.

Javier Colon won the very first season of "The Voice," with coach Levine by his side. His audition of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" caused all four judges to turn their chairs.

This Season 29 win is Levine's fourth: The show's first-ever winner, Javier Colon, hailed from Team Adam – as did Season 5's Tessanne Chin and Season 9's Jordan Smith. Levine, who took a break after Season 16 in 2019 and returned for 2025's Season 27, hadn't scored a coaching win in the decade since Smith was crowned the champion.

"It's been a while, so I almost forgot what it felt like to win 'The Voice.' This is a beautiful reminder, and what better person to win it with than Alexia. She's ridiculous, so insanely talented," Levine tells USA TODAY at the finale celebration.

"I've been around a long time, and as talented as you are, just the person that you are, that's the best part," he continues, speaking directly to Alexia next to him.

"I feel great. I'm excited. I'm still processing it all right now, so get back to me in 20 minutes," Alexia says.

At the finale event, Levine also revealed he will be returning as a coach for the next season of "The Voice."

Alexia Jayy's 'The Voice' journey
Fellow Team Adam members Jeremy Keith and Jared Shoemaker's journeys were cut short the day before the finale when they were eliminated in the April 13 semifinals.

Alexia, a mother to three, has been one of the frontrunners since the beginning of the season, when she scored a three-chair turn from Levine, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson with her powerful rendition of "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" during the Blind Auditions.

Her 9-year-old son, Matthew, helped his mom out by declaring that Maroon 5 is his favorite band, to Levine's delight.
